My opinion is that man have turned there back because they've got a Little taste of money- "Money is the ruler of all evil" with that being said.. When we were a little less off we were a little best off.. We went to church on Sundays-we loved each other harder- we spent more time together as a family- we went to church more- We prayed at home as a family- Our kids even had more respect and were more apt to be obedient. God has never turned his back on us? Why have we become so hard, where we've turned our back on him? Ask yourself this! If you were poor and bum on the street what would you Cherish the most? My answer would be God's word. My faith in God is still the same. I am guilty also of not turning to him more. But I still have faith in God's will for us all. May God Bless All

Money gives people a sense of security/ high that will eventually wear itself out. The bible does say it is hard for a rich man to get into heaven, however it is hard for a poor man too. Money isn't not the root of evil it's the love of money. When you put something higher than God and you worship it more than you do him, He is not pleased. The poor/ homeless man may feel God does not love them because He has a strange way of showing it. If I'm homeless and have no food and water, but this man/woman who doesn't believe in God has everything material wise am I suppose to be happy? Thats a hard thing to swallow.
The rich man may feel I don't need God because I have never been in a position where I couldn't have what I wanted. Yet He/She is dying on the inside but will they give up all that they have for God? Thats hard to stomach as well for the rich man.
Rich or poor we all have turned away from God and continue doing so. We don't always do what God wants us to do. Satan/ Evil uses the flesh to try to get us to do his will. Money or lack of money helps in that process if you allow it.

I believe people turn their backs on God because they loose focus. They tend to turn from serving God to expecting God to "serve them. God doesn't owe us anything. People tend to think they wake themselves up in the morning and they work for what they got, not realizing that God still had his mercy and grace over us to allow us to have the things that we do. It takes us (people) hitting rock bottom before they want to remember to call on the Lord. Like we learn in Sunday school, we need to humble ourselves so that we can hear God clearly. Just because a person is homeless doesn't mean that they aren't blessed. God can use anybody and anything to do his will.
